ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Gov. Andrew Cuomo has collected more than $4 million in campaign contributions in the last six months and has amassed an almost unassailable $22.4 million campaign fund nearly two years before he runs for re-election.
Cuomo released the total figures Tuesday as required by election law that mandates six-month reports.
The total show Cuomo spent $890,000 in the last six months, apparently much of it on his fundraisers.
Cuomo also benefits from multi-million dollar TV ad campaigns paid for Albany's richest lobbying group, The Committee to Save New York, which was created to promote Cuomo's policies and achievements. The committee has refused to identify its donors.
