ALBANY, N.Y. - On Tuesday U.S. Senator Charles Schumer announced 225 winners from across New York State to attend President Barack Obama's Inauguration.
Each winner receives two general admission tickets to the Inauguration ceremony on January 21st in Washington D.C.
Schumer is chairman of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies and announced his lottery in November. Schumer said that because of the limited number of tickets, the lottery was the only fair way to distribute the tickets his office received.
The Upstate New York winners break down as follows: 21 from Central New York; 22 from the Rochester-Finger Lakes Region; 36 from the Capital Region; 14 from the Southern Tier; 11 from Western New York; and 29 from the Hudson Valley.
