WATERVLIET, N.Y. -- Work has begun to dismantle Saint Patrick's church in Watervliet -- to make way for a supermarket.
The group clearing out the church isn't letting any items go to waste. An Atlanta-based company is charged with removing all of the artifacts inside, and instead of discarding the items; the group actually rehabs and refurbishes them to be used in other churches.
The city decided in November to rezone the property so the historic church could be torn down.
