NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Flu is hitting Massachusetts hard, and Berkshire County is not immune.
To cut chances of spreading the illness at their facility, North Adams Regional Hospital is requesting people planning to visit patients to leave any children under the age of fourteen at home, and to only visit in groups of two at a time.
The hospital posted their request on their Facebook page Thursday afternoon.
Hospital officials have also scheduled a flu clinic for Friday, January 11, at their VNA.
The clinic runs from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Eighteen flu-related deaths have been reported in Massachusetts, so far this season.
Heavy cases of the illness have prompted Boston officials to declare a health emergency in the city.
