NY man charged in shooting of 2-year-old in car

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. (AP) - A 32-year-old Niagara Falls man is in jail awaiting a court appearance after being arrested for a shooting that wounded a 2-year-old girl sitting in the back seat of a car.

Willie Scott turned himself in to Niagara Falls police on Wednesday. He was wanted on a warrant charging assault and criminal use of a firearm. Police say he's suspected of shooting at a man sitting in a parked car on Nov. 27, striking the toddler.

Police said the child is recovering.

Scott is due back in court on Monday.
