HUDSON FALLS, N.Y. - Police in Washington County face a daunting task in finding owners for
jewelry and other valuables discovered stuffed into 31 duffel bags, so they will be putting them on display in Hudson Falls Wednesday night.
The Hudson Falls Police Department, New York State Police and Washington
County Sheriff's Department announced the arrest of 39-year-old John Suddard, of Fort Edward, in a large
burglary case that spanned several years targeting homes in Washington,
Warren, and Saratoga Counties.
Few clues point to the owners of the roughly 30,000
items discovered after Suddard's recent arrest, so police are taking
the novel step of displaying the recovered items at Hudson Falls High School, located at 80 East LaBarge Street in Hudson Falls,
Wednesday night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Hudson Falls Police are requesting all victims contact the agency that
investigated their burglary and get a copy of the police report. Victims
with the last name beginning with A - M are being asked to come between
6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and victims with the last name beginning with M - Z
are asked to come between 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and all are asked to bring
identification.
Police say they have received calls from potential victims and plan to do at least one more display after Wednesday.
Suddard is charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the
third degree, Class D Felony. He is being held at the Albany County Jail
without bail.
