ALBANY, N.Y. - After more than a decade, the construction at the Capitol is complete.
State lawmakers gathered Wednesday morning to announce the completion of the work, unveiling the sky-light on the fourth floor of the historic Capitol.
Officials say the restoration was more than $2 million under budget and 18-months ahead of schedule. They highlighted the importance of the Capitol as a symbol of the state and explained that a lot of time and consideration went into the plans; The governor calling the restoration meaningful.
The restoration included the opening of the Hall of New York on the second floor, which is expected to attract tourists to the Capitol.
