ALBANY, N.Y. - The Albany Police Department reminds residents beginning Tuesday, January 15th, the city's residential parking permit system will go into full effect.
Motorists should know there are three designated residential parking zones within a three-quarter-mile radius of the Empire State Plaza.
Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. cars without a permit that are parked on these designated streets may do so for only two hours. Violators of this system are subject to a parking ticket with a $50 fine and a $15 surcharge.
All existing traffic and parking regulations, such as alternate side parking and snow emergencies, take precedence over residential parking rules.
Applications for City of Albany residential parking and more information are available here.
