COLONIE, N.Y. - Colonie Police have arrested a former Verizon employee for allegedly stealing an intimate picture off a customer's phone which he was servicing.
Police say the victim was having trouble charging his phone and took it to the Verizon store on Route 7 when a store employee, 33-year-old Dominic Pirozzi of Ballston Spa, allegedly stole the topless picture of his girlfriend.
Pirozzi told the victim he would fix the phone and took it to the back of the store. It was at that time police say he found the photo and texted it to himself.
It didn't take long before the victim realized the photo had be texted from his phone and called police.
Police say Pirozzi turned himself in last week. "I liked the picture so I sent it from [the] phone to my phone in a text message," he told police. "I realize now I made a mistake and a bad judgment call."
Pirozzi's phone has been handed to police investigators to check for any other photos that may not belong to him.
He has been charged with unauthorized use of a computer, a misdemeanor.
Verizon tells NEWS10 he has been fired.
