- Schenectady
police have released an image of a sterling silver rosary that went missing
from the home of a retired nun found murdered in her home on New Year's Day.
Police say 82-year-old Mary Greco was given the rosary less than a week
before she was found
killed inside 1402 Stanford
Street. Police say the homicide occurred sometime
during the last weekend of December 2012.
This rosary features 8mm Swarovski Amethyst crystal beads and a sterling
silver crucifix and center. The crucifix measures 2 inches.
Anyone with information on its whereabouts is asked to call the Schenectady
Police Department Detectives Division at 518-382-5245 x5617 or the Tips Line at

Schenectady
police were questioning
a parolee, who has been arrested and is being held on unrelated charges, on the
homicide of Mary Greco.
Police say Greco was a retired nun and her neighbors describe her as a kind
and caring person.
She was a frequent attendee of Saint Luke's Church on State Street. The pastor at Saint Luke's
tells NEWS10 Mary had a passion for helping people. "How sad that a kind
soul like her would meet such a violent end," he said.
