HENRIETTA, N.Y. (AP) - An upstate New York woman charged in connection with two guns used in a deadly Christmas Eve ambush of firefighters is due before a judge.
Dawn Nguyen (WIN) of the Rochester suburb of Greece is accused of lying on a form when she bought a shotgun and semiautomatic rifle in 2010.
Prosecutors say she claimed they were for her, but they really were for neighbor and ex-convict William Spengler Jr. of Webster. He had the guns with him when he killed two volunteer firefighters and wounded two others before killing himself.
The 24-year-old Nguyen is due in Henrietta Town Court on Tuesday on a state charge of filing a falsified business record. Attorney John Parrinello says she'll plead not guilty.
She appeared on a similar federal charge last month.
