Ulster man hit by train remains in critical condition

ULSTER, N.Y. (AP) - State police are still trying to determine why a 21-year-old Ulster County man was on railroad tracks where he was struck by a freight train, severing his right arm and leg.
Troopers say Nick Ogden of the town of Ulster was found next to the CSX tracks in his hometown around 7 a.m. Saturday. Police say someone on a passing train reported seeing a body near the tracks.
When troopers arrived, they found the severely injured Ogden conscious and alert. He's in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.
Police say they're continuing to investigate and have no indication yet of why Ogden had been walking near the train tracks.
