ALBANY, N.Y. – The 6th Annual Neighborhood Food Drive benefiting the Regional food Bank of Northeastern New York will be held this weekend, Jan. 4 through Jan. 6.
Earlier in the week, volunteers delivered bags with a preprinted letter of explanation to neighbors requesting non-perishable food items. The food donations will be collected from homes on Sunday, Jan. 6.
The drive is the largest individually sponsored and administered food drive in the history of the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York.
In 2012, over 14,000 pounds of food were collected, and organizers hope to beat that number in 2013.
