GHENT, N.Y. - A Chatham woman faces several drug related
charges after a traffic stop late Thursday night.
Following a stop on State Route 66 in Ghent, 19-year old
Allison Groupp was found in possession of heroin, amphetamine/dextroamphetamine,
and six hypodermic syringes. According to NY State Police, she was
driving under the influence of a drug and struggled with the arresting
trooper.
She was arrested for Driving While Ability Impaired By
Drugs, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th-Degree,
Criminally Possessing a Hypodermic Instrument and Resisting Arrest.
Groupp was arraigned and sent to the Columbia County Jail in
lieu of $2,000 bail. She will appear in the Ghent Town Court on Jan.
