TROY, N.Y. - A police foot chase through Troy's back streets led to four arrests early Friday morning.
An officer was on patrol downtown at around 1:30 a.m. when he saw a man on the ground surrounded by four men – but when they saw his car they ran off.
After calling for assistance, the officer gave chase. After a few minutes all the suspects were found -- one curled up in a dumpster.
Joseph M. Hart, 22, of 64 Ford Avenue, Troy was apprehended on foot on Broadway between Third and Fourth Streets.
Gary A. Burke, 23, of 29 Emmett Street, Albany was apprehended on the second level of a rear staircase at 45 Third Street; hiding and lying down in a fetal position.
Lashawn A. Chapman, 21, of 29 Emmett Street, Albany was located hiding in a dumpster, at the rear of 33 Third Street.
Byron J. Tilley-Chattoo, 21, of 319 Mott Road, Duanesburgh, NY was located hiding on a rear stairwell of First Niagara Bank.
All four suspects charged with Robbery 2nd-Degree and Assault 3rd-Degree.
They were arraigned this morning in Troy Police Court. Release/bail terms are unknown at this time.
