SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Schenectady Police Department is looking to speak with a man seen shoveling snow in the area of Stanford Street Monday, where an 82-year-old woman was found killed.
Police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man they state is not a suspect at this time. Police only wish to interview him about possible contact with the victim, Mary Greco, and others in the neighborhood.
The man shoveling snow is described as a black male, between the ages of his 20s – early 40s, between 5' 9" and 6' 2" tall with a slim build. The male was dressed in dark clothing with a dark parka coat and a hoodie.
Mary Greco was found dead inside 1402 Stanford Street by the owners of her apartment building, who called police. Police initially called her death "suspicious," but have now ruled it a homicide.
Anyone with information should contact the Schenectady Police Department's Detective Division TIPS line at (518) 788-6566.
