At least 34 cars vandalized in Bennington

BENNINGTON, Vt. - The Bennington Police Department says at least 34 vehicles were vandalized on several streets over the past couple days.

Police say either the driver side front or passenger side rear tires were slashed with a knife or other sharp object, occurring roughly between 5 p.m. Tuesday, and 8 a.m. Thursday.

The targeted area was along Union Street, Silver Street, Imperial Avenue, Grandview Street, South Street and a couple on Main Street. The hardest hit was Imperial and Grandview. There were six reports alone in the parking lot to Silver Street apartments.

Police say most of the victims called the department and they have tried to make contact with the other victims they discovered who did not report a complaint.
