Trooper charged with driving snowmobile drunk

INDIAN LAKE, N.Y. - A New York State Trooper was off-duty at the time he was operating a snowmobile while intoxicated, police say.

Troopers were dispatched to the report of a snowmobile accident on Route 30 in the town of Indian Lake around 10 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1st. Upon arrival police discovered 31-year-old Randy Weaver, an off-duty State Police trooper, was allegedly intoxicated while driving the snowmobile which had become stuck in a ditch by the roadside.

Weaver was arrested for Operating a Snowmobile Under the Influence of Alcohol. He was suspended without pay pending the investigation of his conduct.
