WATERVLIET, N.Y. - Police say a 51-year-old Watervliet man is facing a host of felony charges in connection with a New Year's Day shooting.
The Watervliet Police Department, with the assistance of the Albany County Sheriff Department Tactical Team, took Bruce "Dexter" Gottsammer into custody Tuesday. Gottsammer, of 410 14th Street, is believed to have discharged a .22-caliber rifle at a Watervliet home, breaking a bedroom window where the resident was sleeping two feet below. No one was hurt in the incident.
Gottsammer is being held in Albany County Correctional Facility without bail. He faces numerous felony charges, including 1st degree Reckless Endangerment, 3rd degree Possession of a Weapon and 3rd degree Criminal Mischief.
