Saratoga Springs commissioner seeks to regulate gun show
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - As the national debate over gun control continues in the wake of the Newtown school massacre, officials in Saratoga Springs are working to put limits on what types of guns are sold in our area.
Saratoga Springs Public Safety Commissioner Chris Mathiesen is expected to introduce a resolution to the City Council Wednesday night, urging exhibitors to not display semi-automatic weapons and high capacity ammunition at an upcoming gun show scheduled to be held in Saratoga Springs on January 12th.
Mathiesen says it would be inappropriate following the Connecticut school shooting.
The gun show's promoter says he will ask exhibitors not to bring high-powered rifles; however he's allowing them to be on display in a box.
