Polar Plunge relocates to Million Dollar Beach for 2013

LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. - Many will gather on the freezing shores of Lake George on New Year's Day, for a brisk dip and swim to ring in 2013.

The Polar Plunge will have a change of venue this year, relocating to Million Dollar Beach, on the southern tip of Lake George, instead of the usual Shepard Park Beach location.

Registration for the plunge begins at 10:00 a.m., at Duffy's Tavern, located at 20 Amherst Street in Lake George.

Free shuttles will run from Shepard Park Beach to Million Dollar Beach and back throughout the day.

The first swim will take place at 1:00 p.m., with another swim every half hour following.
