Police looking for driver involved in fatal car-pedestrian crash

MENDON, Vt. – Vermont State Police are looking for a driver involved in a fatal car-pedestrian accident that happened on Friday evening in Mendon.

At around 5:18 p.m., members of the Vermont State Police responded to a crash on Route 4 near the Cortina Inn in Mendon, Vermont.

Drury Morgan, 45, was struck by two vehicles while crossing Route 4, and passed away at the scene due to her injuries, according to police.

The operator of the second vehicle, 50-year-old Joseph Ferrara, pulled over after his collision with Morgan, and immediately contacted the State Police.

Although the incident is still under investigation, alcohol and speed do not appear to be a factor for the operator of the second vehicle.

A witness statement described the first vehicle as a darkly colored, possibly green, station wagon or hatchback-type vehicle, similar to a Subaru, with possible damage to the front passenger side of the vehicle.

Anyone with information on the crash is encouraged to contact Trooper McNulty of the Vermont State Police at Rutland, 802-773-9101.
