NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - The city of North Adams has made changes to its laws surrounding fowl to go into effect on January 1.
Anyone wishing to own hens within city limits must obtain a permit and abide by several regulations - roosters are not permitted.
The changes include:
Chickens must have a run space of 25-feet per bird
All complaints will be followed by a warning and the second will carry a 50-dollar fine
A third complaint will result in a loss of permit and removal of all birds.
