HANCOCK, Mass. – The recent weather has been a windfall for ski resorts - at Jiminy Peak, they expect 5,500 people for Friday's day and night skiing.
Last year, the resort had about 50,000 fewer skiers than previous years.
Friday, they had about 90 percent of their trails open and expect to open their steepest one Saturday.
The timing of the snow has been great for one of their busiest weeks.
"You really kind of thank you thank you because it came at the right time. We would have taken it four or five days earlier but who's going to get greedy," said Brian Fairbank, Jiminy Peak CEO.
This holiday week makes up about 15 percent of the resort's seasonal business.
