ROTTERDAM, NY -- The recent snow fall has helped ski lodges like Maple Ski Ridge attract more visitors.
The snow came as an early birthday present for soon to be ten year old Ashleigh Christman. "It's my first time going down that hill, in ever," said an excited Christman.
Along with her older sister and her dad, Ashleigh even went on their chair lift for the first time. "I was scared at first, I can go down but kind of fell a lot. I cant go on the chair lift without him," she said.
"Mom stayed home, and I'm here scoring big points," said Rick Christman.
As many of us were digging out of the mess, families like the Christman's were making memories in the snow. "Before we came here we went to the sledding hill and then we came here," said Ashleigh.
They packed in as much fun as possible with skiing, snow boarding and enjoying the cold weather. "I love the snow. Winter is my favorite season," said Ashleigh's older sister.
Some say last year was disappointing with the lack of snow, but Thursday night as children came downhill on the slope, there wasn't a disappointed face to be found.
