Rochester, NY – NYSEG and RG&E emergency planners are closely monitoring the potential for a strong low pressure system to bring damaging winds and snow or mixed precipitation to at least part of the state on Wednesday.
Strong winds and related tree damage could result in power interruptions. This storm could affect some of the same customers who lost power as a result of destructive winds late last week.
"Every hour of every day, we are prepared to respond to power interruptions, but in a case like this our front line and support people across the state are on heightened alert," said Mark S. Lynch, president of NYSEG and RG&E. "Our customer relations centers are prepared and we are ensuring that materials are on hand to repair any damage to our electricity delivery systems."
