Drunk driver crashes into house, injures resident

RED HOOK, N.Y. - A woman was arrested in the Town of Red Hook on Saturday evening, after she drove her car into a house, injuring a resident.

Lynn Sarnowski, 47, of Elizaville, was arrested on East Kerley Cors Road in Red Hook.

State Police responded to the scene of a one car personal injury automobile accident after a car crashed through the front door of a house at 180 East Kerley Cors Road.

The car came to rest in the living room of the house and injured a man who was on the second floor of the home, narrowly missing a second resident of the home, who was watching television.

The Red Hook and Milan Fire Departments on the scene extricated Sarnowski from her vehicle.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated after being taken by a rescue squad to St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

She is to appear at a later date in the Town of Red Hook Court. Additional charges may be pending in this case.

The State Police assisted the Red Hook Police department in this case, who had another subject familiar with Sarnowski under arrest for a felony DWI, in the nearby area of this accident.
