NEW SCOTLAND, N.Y. - A serious two car accident occurred on Saturday evening on a section of Route 32, which was coated in ice and snow, according to police.
Two cars collided into each other head-on, as they were driving in opposite directions down Route 32, Indian Fields Road, in the Town of New Scotland.
The Albany County Sheriff's Department assisted at the scene.
Police say one driver required extrication and remained trapped for around twenty minutes.
Both drivers involved in the incident were transported to Albany Medical Center for what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.
Drivers are reminded to be especially cautious on the roads when there is snow, as ice on the road can be extremely hazardous and unexpected.
