Posted: Updated:

MECHANICVILLE, N.Y. – Columbia, Rensselaer, Saratoga and Washington counties still have a significant number of homes without power as of Saturday morning.

NYSEG is assessing damage to its electricity delivery system in the Mechanicville Division as a result of heavy winds and rain.

Barring additional severe weather conditions, the company expects to restore service to the majority of customers by 11 p.m. Saturday. Remaining customers are expected to have service restored Sunday.

"We are committed to restoring power to all of our customers safely and as quickly as possible, and will work diligently until every customer's power is restored," said Mark Leta, regional operations manager.

Current Power Interruption Counts (as of 9:30 a.m.):

  • Columbia County - 1,100
  • Rensselaer County – 1,900
  • Washington County – 1,000

Customers can access power restoration updates here, or check the companies power outage map.

For electricity emergencies and to report power interruptions, NYSEG customers should call 1.800.572.1131.

Dry ice will be available Saturday at the Ghent Fire Station, Route 66, Ghent and the Hoags Corners Firehouse, 7237 State Route 66, East Nassau.
