ALBANY, N.Y. – The suspect in a November shooting in Albany was located in the state of Georgia, taken into custody, transported back to Albany and has been charged with attempted murder.
On the evening of November 12th, officers responded to the area of 186 Second Avenue for a reported shooting. When they arrived, police found a 37-year-old male who had been shot in the shoulder.
The victim was treated at the scene by medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. He has since been released.
During the following investigation, detectives identified Ryan Gunn, 26, of 186 Second Avenue, as the suspect in the shooting.
On November 20th, members of the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force located Gunn in Hinesville, Georgia and placed him into custody.
Gunn was indicted by an Albany County Grand Jury on December 5th, and he was transported back to Albany yesterday morning.
He has been charged with attempted murder, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a firearm, attempted assault and assault.
Gunn was arraigned this morning in Albany County Criminal Court and remanded to the Albany County Jail.
