SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Just two days after First Night Saratoga announced they would not be able to afford fireworks, they're back on thanks to the good will of area business leaders.
Saratoga Springs' private sector came together quickly to ensure the fireworks tradition continues on New Year's Eve.
Saratoga's Public Safety Department announced it did not have enough officers to patrol the bars and staff the fireworks, which initially led to the fireworks cancellation.
But with the raising of $10,000 - additional security can be hired.
Now you can plan on kicking off the New Year at midnight with fireworks in Saratoga Springs' Congress Park.
