GREEN ISLAND, N.Y. - Green Island police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspicious woman who was taking pictures of a home on John Street.
Police say the resident of the John Street home, arrived home around 2:45 p.m. to find a suspicious female on the porch taking photos of the residence. The resident approached the woman and asked her what she was doing, to which she responded she was taking pictures for the bank and that she left a flier
on the door to explain what was going on. The female then left.
A flier was left that was written in English and
Spanish with no address or phone number on the flier. Police are
suspecting that this person or persons may be casing houses in the village.
The female is described as: white, approximately
35 yrs old with thin build, brown hair, brown rim glasses, wearing a white
trench coat with a belt on it.
She left the area in a light green 4-door
vehicle-unknown make or model, possibly a station wagon looking vehicle, maybe
a 2000's model.
Anyone with information related to this incident or sees
someone matching the description, do not approach them, but immediately call
Green Island Police at 9-1-1.
There are no charges at this time but police
are investigating this individual as a person of interest.
