HUDSON, N.Y. - The Mohawk Hudson Humane Society is offering discounted pet adoption fees for their "Friend for the End" adoption event.
The Humane Society wants all its homeless animals to have a loving home before the "end" of the Mayan calendar this Friday, 12/21/12. All dogs will be half price and kittens up to six months to three years will be $50, cats up to age 3 will be
$25, and cats 3 years and older will be free.
If the Mayan prediction does not come to pass, a furry friend will have a new
home to help celebrate the holidays and ring in the New Year.
The "Friend for the End" event runs Tuesday through Friday at the animal center in Menands, as well as the satellite adoption centers at the PetSmart stores in Latham and
Glenmont and Petco in Clifton Park.
Each cat and dog ready for adoption has been spayed
or neutered, de-wormed and treated with flea and tick preventative, has
received age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper and rabies, and goes to its
new home with 30 days of pet insurance and a money-saving coupon for Science
Diet pet food. Cats have been tested for feline leukemia and dogs have
been tested for heartworm.
