ALBANY, N.Y. - An off-duty New York State Police trooper was driving
drunk when he crashed his car Sunday night, officials report.
State Police report 39-year-old Gregory Bennett was driving along I-90 westbound, when he crashed at the Exit 3 off-ramp in the City of Albany. He suffered minor facial injuries and was treated at Albany Medical Center.
Bennett, a 13 year member of the New York State Police, was off-duty at the time and
operating his personally owned vehicle.
Bennett voluntarily
submitted to a chemical test of his breath which revealed a BAC of .14 percent and was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
He works as a Technical Sergeant assigned to Division Headquarters' Communication
Section, and has
been suspended without pay.
