Police: Armed robber loose out of Warrensburg

WARRENSBURG, N.Y. - Saturday afternoon, a man forcibly entered a Warrensburg home, threatened a resident with a knife and then fled with stolen property, according to police.

The home invasion robbery occurred at around 12:45 p.m. on Library Avenue in Warrensburg.

Cameron Joseph Belden, 22, was reported to have forcibly entered the home of a person he was familiar with.

Belden advised the victim not to call police and then took the cell phone in an attempt to prevent police contact. A quantity of prescription narcotics was also taken.

The victim was uninjured and subsequently called for police assistance from a neighboring home.

Belden is a white male, approximately 5'8", weighing around 155 pounds, with brown hair in a crew-cut style and blue eyes. Belden has ties to the Warrensburg and Queensbury areas, as well as the Ticonderoga area.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's assistance in locating Belden. Anyone with any information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office at 743-2500.
