LEE, Mass. - According to reports, a Lee man has been arrested after he shot his stepson three times with an assault rifle at their home.
Massachusetts State Police say the domestic shooting occurred at the family's home at 175 Beartown Mountain Road in Lee around 5:45 p.m. Thursday when 51-year-old Phap Nguyen shot his stepson 30-year-old Jeremy Lee Deane.
According to District Attorney Spokesperson Fred Lantz, Deane was taken to the hospital after the shooting. Nguyen was also taken to the hospital before being arrested. There is no word on the condition of the victim.
A dog was also found dead in a bedroom with a gunshot wound to the head during the incident.
Lantz says Nguyen is scheduled to be arraigned at the Central Berkshire District Court Friday morning. He is charged with Assault to Murder and Animal Cruelty.
Massachusetts State Troopers are investigating.
