Man charged with DWI after driving wrong way on Northway

A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he was spotted traveling north in the southbound lane of the Northway Tuesday morning.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office says around 10 a.m. Tuesday 40-year-old James Williams Jr., of Hampton NY, was driving his truck the wrong way on the Northway between exits 19 and 20.

He was stopped and directed safely off the road with no accidents occurring.

He was subsequently charged with Aggravated DWI for having a BAC above .18% and issued traffic tickets for driving the wrong way.
