ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities have charged a 21-year-old Albany man with fatally shooting another man as he drove through an intersection late last year.
Officials tell local media outlets that Jallah Drake was charged Tuesday with second-degree murder in the killing of 25-year-old Robert Gibbs of Albany on Nov. 29, 2011.
Drake was also charged with felony counts of weapons possession and tampering with physical evidence. Authorities say Drake shot Gibbs with a pistol and possessed two illegal firearms.
Officials say Gibbs was associated with an Albany-based street gang that was planning to retaliate against a rival gang for his slaying.
Drake is being held in Albany County Jail. It couldn't be determined if Drake had a lawyer.
