AMSTERDAM, N.Y. – Amsterdam Police arrested a 26-year-old weeks after they say he robbed Kings Food and Fuel at 72 Guy Park Ave. on Nov 24.
Officers responded to the report of a robbery, and an employee working at the time told them that a male had entered the store and demanded money from the victim while implying that he had a weapon. The suspect then reached into the cash register and removed an undetermined amount of cash. He then fled the store, on foot, and was last seen in the area of Wall Street and Guy Park Avenue
Amsterdam Police located a suspect on Dec. 10. Johnathan Palombo, 26, of 38 James St., Amsterdam was wanted on outstanding bench and arrest warrants and was interviewed in regards to the robbery while at police headquarters.
The suspect made admissions to detectives during the interview. He was charged with the following offenses:
Additionally the defendant was charged with Failure to Register address change as a sex offender-second offense, a class D felony; and Failure to appear on a bench warrant, a violation.
The defendant was held for arraignment in Amsterdam City Court.
