LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - The Siena men's basketball team has a very big game Friday against Rider at the Times-Union Center as they open up conference play, but while getting a win is important - the players are showing support for the victims and survivors of that horrific Northway crash that claimed the lives to two Shen students last week.
Senior forward O.D Anosike asked fans who attend the game to wear blue and green to show support to the victims and the community as they try to recover.
Those students involved in crash were actually leaving the Siena, U-Albany game at the Times-Union Center last week, which really hit home to Anosike and the other players.
This week they visited Matt Hardy and Bailey Wind, the other students who were injured in the crash, to try and lend their support to help them through this difficult time.
Anosike said the team will dedicate the rest of the season to those involved in the crash whether it is a win or a loss, and he actually will have the initials of those students on his shoes to always remind him throughout the season.
