Water fee waived for family that lost home to fire

Posted: Updated:

EAGLES MILLS, N.Y. – On Thursday the Town of Poestenkill voted unanimously to forgive the $1,400 water bill charged to homeowner Mike Pietro whose home was destroyed by fire in November.

According to Eric Wohlleber, on behalf of Town Supervisor Dominic  Jacangelo's office, originally, the town charged the homeowner $1,400 dollars, but that charge was reduced to $324 dollars for just the cost of the water.

Now that $324 dollars was waived.

The decision comes just days after Eagle Mills firefighters held a Pancake breakfast to help the family pay the bill.
