Don Decker died Monday, December 3, 2012 at his home in Rotterdam. The Amsterdam native had been diagnosed with cancer this past summer. Decker was one of the Capital Region's most respected News Directors prior to his retirement in 1998 from NEWS10.
His career spanned six decades. All of those years spent at stations
here in the Capital Region where he helped launch many stellar
television careers.
Decker was a graduate of Syracuse University and
he held fast to the journalistic ethics that seem at times to be all
but forgotten.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Monica and their family.
