Plans for new Capital Region private school made public

CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. - Plans for a new private school for Capital Region students being made public today.

The new Saratoga Academy for Leadership and Maritime Programs will serve students in grades 5 through 8.

The middle school will be at the Capital Region maritime center and is a collaborative effort by that organization and the Saratoga Academy for Arts and Sciences.

Administrators say the school will provide options for learning about rivers and water technologies, aside from the curriculums in public schools.

The new school is set to open in September of 2013.
