TROY, N.Y. –State Police confirm they have one suspect in custody after a
pursuit ended in a rollover crash Friday night.
According to Troy dispatch, a minor fight was reported at the corner of Ingalls
Avenue and 8th Street in Troy. A car with the suspects then fled when Troy PD
attempted to stop the vehicle.
When the vehicle reached ST-7 on the Collar City Bridge, Troy PD
discontinued the pursuit. Troopers then observed the vehicle going southbound
on I-787 and attempted to pull it over. When the driver did not stop, State
Police initiated a pursuit.
The pursuit continued from I-787 southbound onto I-90 westbound, then to
Exit 5 Everett Road and eastbound on Central Avenue.
The car ran a red light at the intersection of Central and Partridge and was
struck by another vehicle causing the Chevy to overturn, striking another
vehicle that was traveling westbound on Central Avenue.
The driver, Ronnie Robinson, 18, was arrested by Albany PD after fleeing the
scene and was later turned over to State Police.
Robinson had an active warrant for his arrest out of the City of
Schenectady. He has been charged with the following:
- Failure to Comply
- Endangering the Welfare of a Child
- Reckless Endangerment
- Numerous VTL infractions.
He will be arraigned at City of Albany Court on December 1.
