SCHOHARIE COUNTY, N.Y. - Improvements at the Gilboa Dam are picking back up this weekend.
Saturday, New York City's DEP, which controls the dam, will increase the flow of water from the Schoharie reservoir to make way for the installation of new siphons in the reservoir.
The DEP says the siphons will help it better monitor water levels and increase flood prevention.
This is the next step in a $400 million reconstruction project at the dam, expected to end in 2014.
