ALBANY, N.Y. - The Washington Avenue Armory is set to hold its first dance event in over a month, after agreeing to new zoning and safety regulations with the city of Albany.
In October, Albany served the armory with a cease and desist order after seven were arrested and three officers were injured during when things got out of control before an event.
Armory officials say as part of their agreement with the city, they're restricting the venue's floor capacity to about 2,000 attendees, less than half of the previous full capacity.
Shortly after the October event, the Armory named several steps it would take to ensure accidents are prevented in the future.
After making changes, the city has allowed the armory to hold the dance parties its known for.
Friday's event, "Masquerave," was re-scheduled from October.
