Police in Stockbridge and Lenox, Massachusetts are investigating a rash of stolen donation cans that help serve two animal advocacy groups.
The Berkshire Humane Society says at least one dozen of their donation collection canisters went missing from local businesses recently.
Also, a local cat rescue group says twenty of their donation cans went missing in the last two months.
The money in the cans helps pay for vet fees and food for cats and dogs that are rescued and put up for adoption.
Both groups say they are out hundreds of dollars and are already on slim budgets.
Police in Lenox and Stockbridge say they have evidence they are reviewing and trying to find a suspect.
