WATERVLIET, N.Y. - The Watervliet
Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that occurred Tuesday morning at the Pioneer Savings Bank.
According
to witnesses, a black female entered the bank at approximately 9:46 a.m.,
followed shortly thereafter by what appears to be an accomplice.
The suspect approached the teller and handed them a note demanding money. No weapons were displayed or implied. The teller handed the suspect money who then fled on foot out the door with the accomplice to a vehicle described as a black Nissan with four others occupants.
Police say parties from the Nissan separated into both vehicles and fled the area in
an unknown direction of travel.
Information obtained during the investigation reveals that the license
plate reported on the original flee vehicle, NY REG EED-8870 may
have been stolen from another vehicle matching the suspect vehicle.
The female suspect is described as approximately
5'1" tall 130 lbs, was wearing a tan ball cap, gray hoodie and light colored
jeans with tattoos of stars going down the left side of her neck.
The accomplice is described as a
black male, approximately 5'10" medium build was dressed in bulky
clothing which included a grey "Akademiks" hoodie with a football logo on
front, stars on the sleeve and a large "09" on the back, wearing a baseball cap.
The investigation is continuing as new
information becomes available.
