ALBANY,
N.Y. - Fires are often devastating, and sometimes it seems we hear about them
more around the holidays.
Firefighters
say there's a reason for that, and warn homeowners to be careful this winter.
Asst.
Fire Chief Glenn Myers says, "Usually this time of year, especially with
the economy the way it is, people will try alternative heating methods that
don't go the way they are supposed to."
Firefighters
also warn about the dangers of overloading circuits with holiday decorations, which
can lead to an electrical fire.
