ARLINGTON, Vt. – Vermont State Police are asking for the
public's help in tracking the source of counterfeit bills in the area.
An employee at the Stewart's Bread and Butter Shop in the
Town of Arlington contacted Vermont State Police after they discovered the
store had received two counterfeit $20 bills between November 24th 8:00 p.m.
and November 25th 12:00 p.m.
The Berkshire Bank in Arlington confirmed the bills were
fake. Counterfeit bills often feel different than actual US currency and
also lack some of the unique characteristics.
